The Maque-IT Training Workshop will take place in Naples on 14–15 September 2026.

The workshop is designed to introduce and provide hands-on experience with the latest version of Maque-IT, the first software specifically developed for the virtual reconstruction of papyrus rolls, with a particular focus on the Herculaneum papyri. The practical sessions will be led by Marzia D’Angelo, Federica Nicolardi, and Maria Chiara Robustelli (University of Naples Federico II) in collaboration with Florent Noël, Jérémy Vagnet, and Thierry Dassonville (Curious Company), the software developers.

There are 12 places available, and attendance is in person only. Priority will be given to applicants currently working on the reconstruction of papyrus fragments.

To apply, please send an email and your CV to lacunafis@gmail.com by 20 July.

The workshop is organized within the framework of the LACUNA project in collaboration with the RECREATE project — REConstructing papyrus scrolls and REcovering Ancient TExts with the aid of a new digital tool (P.I. Federica Nicolardi)
